Leading Titanium frame maker Litespeed introduced this 3rd generation of their Tachyon time trial bike, made with 2.5AL/3V (2.5% Aluminum, 3% Vanadium) Titanium alloy oval tubes and curved radial seat stays for a more compliant ride. Titanium offers the compliance of steel, is lighter than aluminum, and offers much more durability than carbon fiber. The frame will not corrode or ever need paint touch-ups. It will literally last a lifetime. This bike is perfect for the beginner or intermediate triathlete/duathlete who wants to leverage the faster times of a comfortable aero position with high quality components.
Stem, seat post, and fork are lightweight carbon fiber. Has been upgraded to Ultegra 2x10 drivetrain and brakes. Shimano aero wheels with blade spokes. New tires. Truvativ Rouleur crankset. Selle Italia SLR T1 195g gel saddle with Vanox rails. Includes additional accessories: wireless computer with new batteries, Profile Designs aero time trial front bottle, and demo pedals with toe cages.
This bike was $3400 new in 2007, with the Ultegra upgrade options. Comparable Titanium TT bikes are over $4000 today.
